Provide an overview of what you’ve been doing since completing your internship with Big Hairy Dog?

In 2019, I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Minor in Elementary Education. Subsequently, I pursued a Master of Arts in Educational Studies with a focus on educational policy and administration, completing it in 2020. After graduating, I  worked as a 5th-grade teacher at an elementary school in South Sacramento from 2020 to 2023. I am currently attending Loyola Law School.

Are there any specific skills, knowledge, or lessons you learned during your internship that you’ve continued to use in your current endeavors?

My internship at Big Hairy Dog not only enhanced my ability to communicate effectively with potential clients but also provided me with valuable experience in professional sales. The communication skills I developed during this internship have proven instrumental in my undergraduate and graduate studies, as well as in my professional career. I actively apply and rely on these skills in law school, recognizing their enduring value as I work towards becoming a lawyer.

In what ways did your internship help you prepare for your current role or other opportunities you’ve pursued?

Employment at Big Hairy Dog provided me with a firsthand look at the inner workings of a software company. Not only did I acquire the skill of effectively presenting a product to potential customers, but I also had the opportunity to observe and learn from colleagues in various roles. These observations granted me invaluable insights into the overall functioning of a company.

Can you share any achievements or milestones you’ve reached since your internship that you’re particularly proud of? 

I take pride in my academic achievements:

– Bachelor of Arts: Graduated magna cum laude

– Master of Arts: Maintained a GPA of 4.0

Are there specific aspects of your internship experience that you believe have contributed to your ability to adapt to new environments or challenges?

I think the most important skill I got from working at Big Hairy Dog was my communication skills.
