Error 9901 is listed in the B-Tree Filer Error Codes as: ‘Too many open files.’ It is necessary to set the FILES= statement in the CONFIG.SYS to 150. Running the WS program from the first RPro disk will normally correct this error. If the computer is running MS-DOS v3.3 it will be necessary to correct the CONFIG.SYS manually. This error can be corrected on a Novell network by adding a SHELL.CFG file with the statement ‘FILE HANDLES=100’, to the boot drive. It should be placed with the NETX and IPX files. Also I usually put a copy of the netx.cfg and shell.cfg into the root dir of the boot disk
