DEBIT CARD BATCH OFF

just came accross this at made in oregon…
sam install a pinpad at a store, in debit he left on the feature to allow cash back. they don’t normally do this, but he is new and did not know. a cashier rang a transaction and gave $20 back. the original transaction was $22.85 and with cash back of $20 was a total of $42.85 on the debit card. the receipt looked correct, the z-out looked correct, but on the batch, it showed only $22.85 charge to the debit card. this would mean the took a total of $2.85 for this item instead of $22.85. talked to paymentech, they see the transaction on their side as $42.85. turns out it is a bug in batch reporting for debit cards.
